Yes. This smoothing treatment is safe on any hair type and actually helps to improve shine as well as moisture levels. There is a very, very small amount of formaldehyde in the formula, but there isn’t any more in it than would be in your nail polish. With any chemical processing, there is always a chain reaction of bonding the treatment to your hair.

Yes. Depending on your hair type you can wear your hair curly or straight with the Brazilian Blowout Smoothing Treatment. As long as you don’t have any other issues that affect your curls prior to the service you will have the flexibility to do both.

Please note that this treatment is not a hair-straightening treatment; it won’t take the kink and curl out of hair but it may have a slight straightening effect on wavy or otherwise lightly textured strands.

Our smoothing treatments can last up to 12 weeks if you follow our Aftercare instructions closely. There are many ways to prolong the life of your treatment at home.

Your stylist will help you decide which aftercare products will work best for your hair type. The Acai Brazilian Blowout products ensure the longest-lasting results. If you avoid using shampoos that contain sulfates and chlorine, your treatment should last anywhere from three to four months—possibly longer if you don’t mind washing your hair less often.

You’ll know when it’s time to get it redone when your hair starts to return to its natural curl around the hairline. Even if you don’t get it touched up right away, there’s no obvious line of demarcation between the previously treated hair and new growth, unlike with other relaxing or straightening methods.

The Brazilian Blowout Smoothing Treatment is completely safe on color-treated hair and since it completely seals off the hair shaft, your color may stay vibrant for longer. We suggest scheduling your color service before your smoothing treatment for the same day since the cuticle will already open from the color.
