Thanks to timeless icons like Audrey and new-age babes like Cara, eyebrows are having a major moment. So what’s a girl to do when her brows are a little sparse (looking at you, Mona Lisa), unpredictable or shapeless? One of the fastest growing methods in cosmetic makeup – microblading – can help.
Microblading (a.k.a. eyebrow embroidery, micro-stroking, eyebrow shaping, eyebrow threading and feather touch) implants pigment under the skin using a series of very fine needles that produce thin, hair-like strokes to define and fill in your brows. The result is full, realistic brows, with each hair drawn individually.
The microblading technique requires two procedures: an initial appointment and a touch-up to perfect the look and shape of your new brows. You’ll enjoy your beautiful, well-shaped brows for 12-18 months. (factors like skin type, skin condition, and sun, chlorine and salt water exposure can affect your microbladed brows’ retention time.)
Includes a complimentary consultation and a complete eyebrow fill.
Touch ups are done no earlier than 5 weeks of your initial procedure and no later than 10 weeks. If you do not schedule your touch-up within 10 weeks, you will be required to pay a touch-up fee outlined in our touchup schedule.
Includes a complimentary consultation and a complete eyebrow fill.
Microblading is a two-step procedure, with appointments usually scheduled 6-8 weeks apart. The initial appointment takes about 2 hours, while the touch-up appointment takes about 1 hour. It is important to complete both the initial and touch-up procedures.
**Occasionally, a third touch-up appointment (4-6 weeks later) is necessary for certain clients when the pigment doesn’t implant as effectively into the skin.
The pigment used in microblading is semi-permanent and can last between 1 and 3 years, and will begin to fade within 12 months. To keep your brows distinct and defined, a touch-up is recommended every 12 months to 24 months. After 2 years, the full price for the microblading procedure will apply.
More frequent touch-ups may be required for clients who choose a softer look, lighter shade, or who did not follow aftercare instructions properly.
Factors that cause microbladed brows to fade faster include iron deficiency, sun exposure, exfoliants, strong immune systems, salt water exposure and smoking.
To ensure the microblading procedure is as pain-free as possible, we use a strong topical anaesthetic cream prior to and during the procedure to keep you comfortable. Some find the procedure mildly uncomfortable while others experience no discomfort at all.
The complete healing process takes approximately 6 weeks. Immediately after your microblading procedure and for the first 10 days of healing, your brows will look significantly darker and more defined than your desired look. They may continue to darken as scabs form, though this isn’t an accurate indication of your healed result. As the scabs begin to detach after 7 to 10 days, about 30-50% of the brow color will fade. Some scabs may take longer to heal and detach. Never pick at your scabs, as removal may pull pigment out of your skin. The appearance of another client’s healing process may appear different than yours, so it’s important to not compare results.
Your brow area may be sore for a few hours after your procedure, and tender to the touch for a few days.
To determine the best color match based on your skin tone, facial features and personal preference, we compare a few different pigments by applying small amounts to the skin near your brows. We closely match the color of your brow hair rather than your current hair color for a more natural result.
The pigment will appear very natural looking immediately after the procedure but the color of the pigment will appear much darker the next day.
No. The microblading technique creates soft, natural-looking brows. When we implant the semi-permanent pigment under the skin with a cosmetic tattoo process, it looks more realistic than traditionally applied makeup.
Depending on the client, there may be minor bleeding during the procedure. Slight bleeding may occur if you take blood thinners daily, and bruises are rare but may appear. You may feel slight tenderness for a few days.
STEP 1:
The initial procedure takes about 2 hours, where we discuss your desired brow shape, choose a color and draw the initial outline for you to approve. While faces are not perfectly symmetrical, we’ll create as much symmetry as possible. After you’ve approved your brow shape and symmetry, we trace your brow shape with a disposable microblading hand tool and apply semi-permanent pigment. Please note the tool is used by hand and is not a machine.
STEP 2:
The touch-up procedure takes approximately 1 hour scheduled between 5 and 10 weeks from your initial appointment. Touch-up procedures scheduled after 10 weeks will incur an additional fee as outlined in our schedule.
For optimal results, it is imperative you complete the touch-up procedure. Your brow color will fade significantly within 4 weeks as the skin heals, peels and fades, and the touch-up fixes any irregularities in the microbladed hair strokes and color tones.
*Before your service, you will be asked to fill out our consent form. Please read it carefully as it will help determine your eligibility for this service.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
YOU ARE NOT A CANDIDATE FOR MICROBLADING IF YOU…
PLEASE NOTE: Microblading results in a very natural and fuller-looking brow. While your brows will initially appear darker, they will fade significantly over a two-week period. It is absolutely crucial to complete the touch up procedure. It is also difficult to predict how well your skin will retain the pigment. Due to varying factors, we cannot guarantee your microblading results.
